Laid off + no one hiring = I'm so screwed

:star-empty: NEWS :star-empty:

Well, forget about 2009 kicking off to a great start for me.
I got a lay off notice on New Year's Day! Isn't that swell?

So while fighting through the unemployment system, and spreading my resume all over the interwebs, I am coming back to accept commissions earlier than planned.

I'll be going on my third week of unemployment, and this is one of the second fastest ways I can get money. No one is hiring in my community and I've been spending 2-3 hours of my time trying to get a hold of unemployment to even file.

If I don't come up with $375.00 by Feb 5th, I'll be in deep trouble. Any help is good help right now.

:star-empty: COMISSIONS :star-empty:

Pencil: $20.00
Ink: $24.00
Digital color: $26.00
Hand colored: $30.00
Sticker ( 2 x 4 ): $2.75 each
Sticker ( 3.3 x 4 ): 4.50 each
Sticker ( 5.5 x 8.5 ): $10.00 each
S + H: $2.00 ( digital art, 2 x 4 stickers, and 3.3 x 4 stickers are exempt from shipping and handling. )

Payment: Checks, Money order, or PayPal. If you prefer to snail mail me the payment, e-mail me and I can give you the address in private.

My Paypal e-mail is Bittermause@gmail.com

Due to personal circumstance, I will not start up a comission piece unless I am paid in full first. If there are any problems please e-mail me and we can negotiate.

Only subjects I will not/cannot draw are the following: pornography, gundam-style mechs, hardcore fetish art. I'm cool with requests for artistic nudity, as long as it is in good taste.

Also I've noticed a couple times in the past people will request work to be done and suddenly disappear without mentioning if they changed their mind or not, and they are still obviously active. Please don't be rude guys. It's not hard to say 'I'm sorry I changed my mind.' and I know DA's note system can be dysfunctional so getting a hold of me via e-mail is not hard either. Or for the sake of skipping out on possible misunderstanding woes, please think carefully on what you want before you contact me. I'm not going to bite your head off if you decide you don't want my services. I promise!

If interested, please e-mail me at bittermause@gmail.com and place 'comissions' under the subject.

We've had to deal with unemployment here. You basically have to keep hitting redial until you can get through. It took an entire day to get through when mom lost her job. Supposedly, well at least here in CA, there's an online application for unemployment. That may be something to check.

Yeah I already did the online application twice, but because I worked for Disney during the internship, I was denied to file online. Everyone keeps telling me to call so that's all I can do.
:iconrainbwice:
That sucks...=\

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I haven't been able to find a job in about six months. I've always offered commissions, but no one seems to be interested. : /

I'm job hunting too. :(

And they don't get the fact that you have a child to raise?
That's just terrible. =/
:iconbittermause:
And you've always have such a unique and colorful style too.
I've noticed the last couple years not many people can even afford to chuck up money for commissions. January is always the worst time of the year for money too, but this tops it.

;__; I would so throw $$ at you for art, but now more than ever I need to watch my money so I don't get into further trouble myself. you're in my thoughts, though, and I hope things will improve.

Yeah I just read about you finally moving out, so I understand. ( Congrats to you both! )
In time things will get better, I just need to stop having a panic fit when something has to take more than one day to get done.
